I GLORY IN THE CROSS

But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
Galatians 6:14

The cross of Jesus has settled every failure of man, and has cancelled all claims of Satan against us. To glory here means to rejoice greatly; to celebrate loudly; to brag and boast audaciously. Why should we glory in the cross?

1. Glorious things were accomplished by Jesus on the cross.
2. The glory of God was revealed and released through the price Jesus paid. “And the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father)” (John 1:14).
3. The believer has been made a partaker of the glory of Christ because of the cross. “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory” (1 Corinthians 2:7).

Let us consider reasons we should rejoice.
– The cross cancelled man's sins and reconnects us to God. “And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby” (Ephesians 2:16).

– By the cross He crushed, defeated and destroyed Satan permanently. “And having spoiled principality and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it” (Colossians 2:15).

– On the cross He cancelled all our sorrows, sickness and shame.

– By the cross, He countered and reversed all spells and enchantments against us. “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree” (Galatians 3:13).

Beloved, glory in the cross!

Lord, as I glory in the cross this season, I will see no shame in Jesus name.
